Confirmation

At Saving Grace, students take Confirmation Courses in 7th and 8th grades. They finish in the fall of their 9th grade year when they are confirmed on Reformation Sunday. Confirmation is a time for personal reflection and biblical education about the catechism, biblical history, and study of the application of the bible in a student's life.

7th & 8th Grade Confirmation

Our curriculum for 7th and 8th grades is delivered on a 2 year cycle so all confirmands are able to learn all modules. The topics consist of:

Year 1:

God's Grace, God's Blessings, Jesus Serves, and Jesus Saves.

Year 2:

The Ten Commandments, The Apostles' Creed, The Lord's Prayer, and Confession and the Sacraments

9th Grade Confirmation

In 9th grade, our confirmation students are confirmed on Reformation Sunday. In the fall, they complete their biblical education with a unit on Confirmation and the Table of Duties. They also write their faith statement and find a bible verse that has meaning in their life to share with the congregation. it is the culmination of many years of learning about Gods love and Jesus' life and mission. In completing their confirmation, they are admitting to the congregation, their family, and themselves that they have accepted God as their savior and that they will follow his word in their lives.
